The Acropolis is an ancient Greek complex located above the city of Athens. It contains several ancient buildings like The Temple of Athena, and the Odeon of Herodes Atticus theatre. Suggested visit to Acropolis is early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the crowds. The Acropolis is a popular stop on the cruise ship circuit and they start arriving late morning. Visiting it before or after they arrive is the easiest way to make the most of your trip.
A prominent 277-meter hill that is visible from all over Athens is one of the best places to watch the sunset.
